Sift the following ingredients into mixing bowl:
2 cups self-raising flour
1 dessertspoon mixed spice
2 tablespoons icing sugar
pinch of salt
"rub in" 2 tablespoons butter
then stir in handful of sultanas
Slowly add enough water to make "sticky mix" batter
Place batter into ovenproof dish
Mix together 1 cup of boiling water and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
Pour "syrup" over batter and cook until done
(you wind up with a "cake" on top of thick sauce)
